Brainfish, an innovative AI-powered customer support platform, announced today that it has secured $2.5 million in seed funding, bringing its total capital raised to $3.3 million.
The funding round was led by Peak XV’s Surge, with contributions from Macdoch Ventures, Black Sheep Capital, and both existing and new angel investors, including Justus Hammer, CEO of MadPaws.
The newly acquired funds will be used to double down on product innovation and accelerate Brainfish’s international expansion.
The company aims to revolutionize the way online businesses handle customer service by eliminating the need for customers to navigate through extensive help articles or chatbot workflows just to reach a human representative.
Daniel Kimber, CEO and Co-founder of Brainfish, highlighted the transformative potential of AI in customer support.
“Customer support hasn’t changed much in decades. We’re turning this on its head at Brainfish by aggregating complex data to create a single digital source of truth, eliminating 90% of the need for human support,” said Kimber.
Brainfish’s AI search function utilizes a company’s existing knowledge documents and a contextual understanding of the user to deliver instant, real-time answers tailored to specific customer scenarios.
This approach has led to the highest deflection rate of any AI self-service solution on the market, significantly reducing the reliance on human agents.
One notable success story is Circular, a Singapore-Australian tech subscription service, which reported a 20% weekly reduction in support hours and an ROI of 275% after implementing Brainfish’s custom AI-powered help center.
Since its launch in April 2023, Brainfish has experienced a 65% month-on-month growth and now serves over 300,000 users worldwide. Its client list includes major companies such as Airtasker, Smokeball, and Madpaws.
The platform was founded in Australia by product builders Daniel Kimber and Ajain Vivek, who have a long history of collaboration in customer service and product development.
Their work includes leading the delivery of a revitalized direct booking experience for SiteMinder’s B2B hotel customers, which generated millions in new revenue through strategic expansions into new markets.
Brainfish continues to set new standards in AI-driven customer experience, helping businesses understand customer needs and enabling customers to become product experts through personalized, intuitive AI search.
