Tinergy Renewable Energy has teamed up with Santa New Energy via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish electric vehicle (EV) battery assessment centers across Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
Santa New Energy, backed by global battery giant CATL, will deploy its novel technology to inspect batteries during the charging process, eliminating the need to disassemble vehicles or alter configurations.
In support of Asia’s low-carbon initiatives, Tinergy has also signed an MoU with B2G Energies to develop eco-friendly urban solutions, focusing on technology selection and carbon reduction goals.
These efforts align with Singapore’s ambition to cease combustion engine car sales by 2030, necessitating dependable EV battery diagnostics to enhance battery life and support the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
Santa New Energy’s technology, endorsed by CATL’s expertise, promises swift and precise battery evaluations.
This system has been successfully applied in Xiamen, China, at the first low carbon park, integrating various EV after-sales services.
The consortium aims to adapt this model to deliver comprehensive EV after-sales support in the targeted Southeast Asian countries, encompassing maintenance, resale evaluation, and recycling.
Tinergy Renewable Energy strives to advance sustainable practices and is committed to this regional initiative to foster EV adoption.
Southeast Asia’s current EV market is minimal, with only 2.1% of total vehicle sales in 2022, largely due to underdeveloped charging infrastructure and high EV costs.
This collaboration aims to enhance the charging network by incorporating battery health checks, which could catalyze regional EV uptake and contribute to the 2050 goal for net-zero emissions. Further details on facility locations will follow.
B2G Energies is a renewable energy frontrunner, focusing on energy storage and system integration to propel the shift towards clean energy.
Tinergy Renewable Energy champions renewable energy projects, emphasizing clean and sustainable energy. Santa New Energy is dedicated to developing the EV industry, noted for its comprehensive aftermarket services and innovative industry park in Xiamen.
